Faith-bearing Seed for the Soul
"While the earth remaineth,
Seedtime and harvest
....shall not cease"

Genesis 8:22

When fighting the battle of the bulge, I have ...

.

"A Very Present Help in Trouble"

.

I have an Exercycle and a treadmill in my bedroom. All I have to do is USE them as instructed, and stop cluttering them up as clothes hangers, to get the excess pounds off. They are there, ever present, waiting to be used.

I know that my heart will prosper from my daily WALKING efforts, in spite of the fact that I don't even have to leave my bedroom. As long as I am faithful in exercising, I will be strengthened by the aid of these machines.

Often we feel like we aren't accomplishing anything in our CHRISTIAN WALK.

To us, it looks like we are going nowhere and accomplishing nothing until our heart is tested, and then we learn just how strong our faithfulness has made us. Spiritual strength is not always seen by the naked eye, nor does God look at what we as humans look at most, outward appearances of strength. God looks at what has been developed in our hearts.

The enemy would like to make us THINK that our faithfulness to God is fruitless, getting us nowhere, accomplishing nothing, that we should just forget this "faith thing" ...but as we exercise our faith in Him, He takes over and fights our battles for us and we are strengthened.

Hezekiah encouraged his officers with these words...

II Chronicles 32:7,8

Be strong, be brave, and do not be afraid of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is someone WITH US who is FAR GREATER than he is! He has a great army, but they are all mere men, while we have the Lord our God to fight our battles for us!" (emphasis mine)

David said...

Psalms 46:1

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Se'lah."

SE'LAH! Just pause and THINK about that!
