Seed for the Soul
"While
the earth remaineth,
Seedtime and harvest
....shall not cease"
Genesis
8:22
Are you at your wits' end?
You may not know it, but this could be the BEST THING that has ever happened to you. What is our own "wit"? It's our ability to say and think cleverly, it's our own powers of thinking and doing. When we come to our wits' end, we don't have anymore of our own answers for the problem...they have ALL run out...we no longer have any of our own abilities available... we are at a loss as to what to do. But, we are now in a place where we can surrender.
There was a man in the Bible that I believe was at his wits' end with his son. His son was demon possessed and couldn't speak, he foamed at the mouth, threw himself against things, fell into fires and deep water, and he had done these things since he was small. This man couldn't take anymore so he brought his son to the disciples. The disciples couldn't cast the demons out of him, and they took him to Jesus. Jesus told the father that if he believed, all things were possible, and the man immediately cried out, "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." (Mark 9:24)
Well, did he, or did he not believe? I'm convinced that this man was saying that he believed in Jesus, but he was going to need Jesus' help to believe that he would do it for HIM! I've been there before....those times I knew Jesus had healed others of things more difficult than what I was asking for, but my faith was at level zero. I'd done all I could do, I'd given positive confessions about how I was going to be healed, I'd been in every prayer line available, read all the books on healing, listened to the tapes, even sent seed faith money to Oral Roberts, and I didn't know what else could be done: I was at my wits' end.
When we are in this lonely place of little, or unbelief, what can we expect from the Lord?
IITimothy 2:13 LB
Even when we are too weak to have any faith left, He remains faithful to us and will help us, for He cannot disown us who are part of himself, and He will always carry out His promises to us.
The Lord was waiting for me to admit that no one and nothing but Jesus could wash away my sin and sickness. Hey, He was there all the time...waiting patiently in line! Need I say more?
Se'lah...now you just pause and think about THAT!
Planted and rooted in Him,
Marlene
