Mingling with Jesus!

Have you ever wondered what it was like for the disciples to walk and talk with Jesus? To eat with Him...to be a part of the feeding of 5,000? To mingle with Him, observe His ways, attitudes, character. How awesome to share just ONE experience with Him in person...to touch any part of Him!

As I read the following verses I realized something.

John 11:35

Jesus wept.

This is not the only record of His weeping. He travailed and wept over His people...and I have a feeling that as he is now at the side of the Father praying for us, that he is STILL weeping over us, and each and every tear is being collected by His Father.

Psalms 56:8,9

"You have seen me tossing and turning through the night. You have collected all my tears and preserved them in your bottle. You have recorded every one in Your book. The very day I call for help, the tide of battle turns. My enemies flee! This one thing I know: God is for Me!"

Yes, I realized something: every time I shed a tear it is placed in God's bottle. The same bottle that Jesus' tears are in, and my tears are mingling with His. My tears are SO PRECIOUS TO HIM, for He knows the work that is being done on the inside of me by them, and He shows us how precious they are by collecting each and every one of them in His bottle. Much in the same way, I have collected my children's baby teeth.

I still have my grown kids' baby teeth, along with their baby books. 0:)  These teeth are precious to me because I was there with them in their time of hurting when they went through the small amount of pain that made room for more mature growth to come through. And, to think that God has a book in which my name mingles with the name of Jesus, simply warms my heart.

Do you know HOW I know that God is for me, as the remainder of this  verse declares? He has tasted every suffering, even more so, has been tested in every avenue I have been tested in. God IS FOR ME because HE WENT BEFORE ME and knows every single thing that I am going through.

Hebrews 2:16,18

We all know He did not come as an angel but as a human being...it is necessary for Jesus to be like us so he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest....a Priest who would be both merciful to us and faithful to God in dealing with the sins of the people. For since he himself has now been through suffering and temptation, he knows what it is like when we suffer and are tempted, and he is wonderfully able to help us.

What is causing you pain and tears? We can touch Him and be touched by Him! He is there waiting for us to call upon His name for help, so the tide of our battle can be turned. He identifies with our pain... His tears mingle with ours!

Se'lah, stop and think about that for a moment.
