Seed for the Soul
"While
the earth remaineth,
Seedtime and harvest
....shall not cease"
Genesis
8:22
Never Say Never?
About the time I say that I will never do something, well, you've guessed it...it is the very thing I end up doing. We did several Kids' Crusades in Carlsbad, NM, and I remember telling God that He could send me anyplace else in the world, but I would NEVER move there. And, yes, we moved there shortly thereafter. I want you to know that during our three years there, we made the greatest friends we have ever had, enjoyed the most fruitful ministry, and I got to produce and be the hostess of the "People-to-People" magazine style television show that was one of the most fun things I've ever done in my life. And, my radio program, "Sonshine in the Morning," of wonderful testimonies and teaching, was another blessed avenue used to lift the Lord up greatly. I've learned to NEVER SAY NEVER, except for ONE THING!
I believe that because God is the only Omniscient One, the only one that knows the beginning from the end, that He is the only One who rightfully can say NEVER...and when He says NEVER, we can count on it. The one thing that I can assure you we can say "never" about is this:
Hebrews 13:5-6 (Emphasis mine)
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because GOD HAS SAID, "NEVER will I leave you; NEVER will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"
I can confidently say, "God has never left me, He has never forsaken me, He will always be my helper!" I wish I had the faith to say that I would NEVER be AFRAID. In light of what God has said that He would never do, we should be able to say that we will never be afraid. We should have the confidence that no one, no thing, can do anything to destroy us, as long as He is our helper; a helper who will NEVER, NEVER leave nor forsake us.
Lord, I ask you to forgive me for my times of fear and doubt. Forgive me for being so frail and weak. Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. (Mark 9:24)
Exchange our insufficient faith, with Your great faith, and be gracious unto us, we ask in Jesus' name. Amen
Rooted and grounded in the love of Christ Jesus,
Marlene
