WHO says There is NO WAY?

Have you ever felt like the Lord took you behind the "wood pile" and reprimanded you for something you've said or done? I had such an experience the other day. When my granddaughter, who lives with us, came to me and asked about going on the church skiing trip, my  immediate reply was, "Brittany, there is just NO WAY at this particular time. You know Pap has been out of work for a month. You need new glasses first, etc. etc. It's just NOT POSSIBLE! Even if you could get the money to go, there's all the ski clothing, waterproof boots, goggles, gloves, hat, snacks, spending money for extra food, and other things to consider." Fortunately, she had enough faith to not believe what I was saying. Within an hour she had raised the money needed to go. She said that she felt that the Lord wanted her to go on that trip to be there for another friend, and she believed what I've previously taught her, that where God guides, He provides. I know that! So WHY did I say what I did?

The Lord showed me that when we say, "There is no way! It's impossible!"that we are looking to our own capabilities to do what is His responsibility,and that we are not trusting Him to do it. Then, He told me something that really pierced my heart. He said...that the one who says that there is no way when God tells them to do something, is saying the same as, "There is NO GOD!" And He showed me how much it hurt Him to hear that spoken by His children. His Word clearly shows us that there IS A WAY!

John 14:1 LB

LET NOT YOUR heart be troubled. You are trusting God, now trust in Me.

John 14:6 (Emphasis mine)

Jesus told him, "I am the Way--yes, and the Truth and the Life.

Jesus was speaking about the way to heaven here, but there are so many, many other verses that refer to Him as our only hope, the only way for us to do anything that He has called us to do. When we attempt to do these things in our own ability, strength and craftiness, we are doomed for failure. What He calls us to do, He will also equip us to accomplish it.

Proverbs 14:12

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

I'm convinced that all of our own ways lead us down the path of  destruction, and especially those ways that go contrary to God's Word. What seems impossible to you right now? Is it healing of a fatal disease, buying a home, restoration of a marriage? THERE IS A WAY...and that way is through Jesus Christ our Lord. Don't deny Him His status as Jehovah-Jirah...Our Provider, or Jehovah-Rophe...The Lord that Healeth Thee, by declaring that there is no way!

After Britt got money promised to her for the trip, I repented of thinking and stating that there was no way, and then I prayed a simple prayer..."Lord, help us find some ski clothes for her to take on the trip." Not by happenstance, we were at the mall and met a friend from our church. Her daughter "just happened" to have lots and lots of ski clothes Britt's size, even water proof boots that fit, that she could borrow! She is going to look like a magazine fashion model on those ski slopes in all the beautiful outfits that the Lord provided through this individual. Our many thanks to those who are involved in making this trip possible, and we pray that the Lord will bless you one hundred times over for your generosity and for being yielded to the Lord.

God wants so much to bless us...He wants to give us miracles and meet every need in our lives...but before He can do that, we have to believe in Him as The Way!

John 14:12-14 LB

In solemn truth I tell you, anyone believing in me shall do the same miracles I have done, and even greater ones, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask Him for anything, using my name, and I will do it, for this will bring praise to the Father because of what I, the Son, will do for you. And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, He heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desire of Him.
