Seed for the Soul
"While
the earth remaineth,
Seedtime and harvest
....shall not cease"
Genesis
8:22
Blind Men CAN'T See!
Do you think there ever was a blind person that didn't DESIRE to see? I doubt it! If you were blind and someone walked up to you and said, "Here, take this!"...do you think you'd quickly stick your hand out to receive it? Probably not.
The Lord enlightened me to an awesome truth, and it is that those who do not receive the Gospel readily, often times, have their spiritual eye sight blinded by the enemy of their soul. Satan has "veiled" them from seeing, understanding and receiving, and they are perishing, according to Paul's writing in II Corinthians 4:3.
II Corinthians 4:4 NIV
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Jesus has come, that the blind might see, to open the sight of their eyes, both physically and spiritually. He has left those of us who believe "authority" in His name to bind and rebuke the enemy.
Matthew 16:19
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Luke 9:1 NIV
When Jesus had called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
Titus 2:15
Encourage and rebuke with all authority.
Before we go to spiritually blinded people and offer them the Gospel, we need to bind the enemy from blinding them from being able to "see" the truth, so that they will receive what we have to offer them. We need to loose to them the ability to see the truth of God's love for them, and their need of His love.
I've prayed the following prayer daily over my unsaved loved ones and friends, and I've seen the majority of them come to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. There are, however, those whose hearts are already hardened, who have seen but rejected, that I am still praying for.
"Lord Jesus...
I come in Your power and authority, in Your righteousness, and I bind Satan and all of his cohorts from blinding 's spiritual eyes from the truth of the Gospel and Your saving grace and love. I loose to them their spiritual sight that they might see, understand, and receive You as their Savior and Lord. I ask that the Holy Spirit will woo them and call them into a right relationship with You. I ask this in Your name, Jesus, and for the sake of the Kingdom of God.
Amen"
Through the love and authority of Christ, and as we pray for them, they will have the clearly visible opportunity to see and choose, free from Satan's hinderances.
Rooted and grounded in the love of Christ Jesus,
