Hoax, Deception and Destruction

Yes, hoax, deception and destruction seem to be running

rampant these days. Recently my password from aol has

been duplicated or stolen, and pornographic links have been

mailed out under the name of PrayerVine@aol.com. So I

suppose that I am being seen by some as the "Praying Porn

Queen" haha! (I can only laugh because I know the Lord is

ultimately in control, and somehow this will work out for my

good, as is written in Romans 8:28)

In addition, the TexasSower account has been affected too...

Someone is mailing lots of bulk email out under that name

and my mailbox is full of "unsubscribe" messages from people

not on our mailing lists.

I've received dozens of "too good to be true" messages. There

were so many of one that I thought I should investigate...it is

a hoax. Sorry, but you will not be rewarded thousands of dollars

for forwarding the message that Intel and AOL are merging. That

deceptive bit of info, however, you may get your email address

added to lists of "gullable" people pegged for sending out more

deceptive email to.

What can we ALL learn from this?

The devil comes but to...what? Do you know what the WORD

says?

purpose is to give life in all its fullness.

If the devil could have his way, he would destroy the PrayerVine

and steal my peace...he would like to see our ministry dead. He

desires to link our name with his filth to cast mistrust. We are

not going to buckle under to it, and we are going to stand on

God's Word that says:

Isaiah 54:17 LB

"No weapon turned against you shall succeed and you will have

justice against every lie. This is the heritage of the servants of

the Lord. This is the blessing I have given you, says the Lord."

Why is it that some are so quick to believe the hoaxer, so open

to the "too good to be true" messages, yet reject the truth

from God, when His message is the only Way, Truth and Life?

I've found in my case, it can happen to me when I don't stay close

to Him... when I'm not hidden under the shelter, the wings of the

Almighty...when I don't find time to read the Word and pray. Then

deception drifts in, and deception is always designed to lead to

destruction. Lies are easy to believe...they promise much for

little, or nothing at all. God's Word is difficult to obey and live

sometimes...it often takes sacrifice and most always discipline,

perseverance and fortitude to make our old nature do what it

"naturally" doesn't want to do, as Paul explains in Romans 6 and 7.

Paul advises us that when we do what we really don't want to do,

ultimately, it is sin that still dwells within us that is in control.

Believing the scams of getting something for nothing shows that

we still have a susceptible seed for greed within us...But, Praise

the Lord, there is a recommended way to overcome it all...

Romans 6:1617 (Emphasis mine)

"Don't you realize that you can choose your own master? You can

choose sin (with death) or else obedience (with acquittal). The one

to whom you offer yourself--he will take you and be your master

and you will be his slave. Thank God that though you once chose

to be slaves of sin, now you have obeyed with all your heart the

teaching to which God has committed you."

Often, the reason we are not overcomers is that we are not in

the "teaching to which God has committed us," and we are lusting

after the things of the old life, the flesh. We are cleansed from

sin by repentance, through the blood of Jesus, but we must

continue to see the need to repent of the sins that He reveals to

us through the Word. We must be made aware of our shortcomings,

through conviction by the "washing" of His Word. (Ephesians 5:26)

When we don't study or hear the Word, how is He going to show us?

These truly are perilous times...to be an overcomer...to be

able to let the enemy's attacks roll off of us like "water off a

duck's back"...we must be under the "watering of the Word," the

teaching that God has committed us to. It is only the Truth that

can set us free and keep us free. Allow God's Word to cleanse

you, wash you and keep you clean and none of these trials

brought about by the devil, that old serpent, will harm you.

Acts 28:5

But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed.

Romans 8:37 LB

"...overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us

enough to die for us."

That's no hoax! And we can verify it! Amen!
