Faith-bearing Seed for the Soul
"While the earth remaineth,
Seedtime and harvest
....shall not cease"

Genesis 8:22

Got an Hour...Got a Moment?

A few years back, before the fiction movies were made about rocks being hurled from outer space to collide with the earth, I had a vivid dream. There was a mammoth rock ready to strike the earth, in my dream. No doubt about it, the earth was going to be destroyed and we all had only one hour before we would die. People were screaming and in a state of panic. Nobody was concerned about being promoted on their job or how much income they could mass unto themselves. Material possessions were  meaningless and not one person was concerned about how to get God to bless them more or prosper them. Some very sick people seemed relieved, while others had even quit crying out for healing, but cried out only to God because they knew it would be all over within one hour.

What was I doing? I was frantically trying to reach all of my unsaved loved ones that I had not previously told about the saving grace of Jesus Christ, I wanted to give them the message of the Gospel. I knew that in one short hour their destiny would be set...they would either spend eternity in heaven with the Lord, or in outer darkness separated from God and burning in hell with Satan. Nothing else mattered to me...nothing but presenting Jesus to the lost! That dream changed my life. I now view every person that I meet, who does not have the knowledge of salvation, as possibly going to hell in as little as one short hour, unless I present the Gospel to them. I want them to at least know that they have an option to choose God's forgiveness, through Jesus, or to continue in their sins.

The earth may not destruct in one short hour, as in my dream, but we never know when a life may abruptly end within the hour without knowing Jesus as Savior. As I watch the events unfolding in Israel and Jerusalem, events that may well be the fulfillment of the prophecies in Zechariah, I cannot help but wonder how many "hours" are remaining to bring in the lost before Jesus, the Rock Of All Ages, is hurled, in the twinkling of an eye, to the earth to receive His own.

Zechariah 14:1-3 (Emphasis mine)

"Behold the day of the LORD is coming, and your spoil will be divided in your midst. For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The house rifled, and the women ravished (raped). Half of the city shall go  into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be  cut off from the city."

When this prophecy is fulfilled, verses 4 & 5 tell us what is next on the Lord's agenda:

Zechariah 14:4;5

"And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the East. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley...Then the Lord my God will come, and all the holy ones  with Him.

It could happen in the NEXT HOUR, OR NEXT MOMENT! What about your loved ones...are they ready? Have you told them? Or have you been too timid or too busy living "life as usual"?

Revelation 19:11

"Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness  He judges and makes war."

It is as if in my spirit I can see Jesus in heaven putting his foot  in the stirrup, throwing His leg over the saddle and joyfully saying, "It is time!" In the dream I had, I woke up in a state of panic...not because life would soon be over, but in an urgency to present the Gospel to the lost ones I had neglected to tell, and to warn those who are living only for themselves, those forgetting about His righteousness, and the Lord's commission to go into all the world to preach the Gospel.

Romans 13:11 (Emphasis mine)

The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber,  because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armour of light. Let  us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and  drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

Let us think about the fate of those who do not know that Jesus, who knew no sin, died in their place taking their sins upon  Himself, so they, by receiving Him as Savior, may spend eternity  in heaven restored to God almighty. Run to them, as I did to my loved ones in the dream, and to whom I literally ran to after the dream, and tell them. As we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things that we should not make our top priority in this life, will be given to us. (Matt. 6:33)
