“MORE THAN CONQUERORS” (based on Romans 8:37)

8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are
accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that
loved us.

8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate
us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ROMANS 8:35-39

This scripture (Romans 8:37) was once explained to me by a story as follows:

"There was a boxer, who went round after round and took a real beating; he was bloodied, bruised, and his face was swollen, his eyes were practically closed. But after almost 12 rounds of fighting, he threw the knock-out punch and was declared the Winner - The Conqueror! After the fight, he goes and collects the prize money, drives home, and hands the money to his wife. Now she is MORE THAN A CONQUEROR!"

So it is with Jesus and us, Jesus bore it ALL (Isaiah 53:4-5), He CONQUERED it ALL! Then He says to us, "I took all that FOR YOU, so that you wouldn’t have to bear it yourself." Thus, we can now say we, too, are MORE THAN CONQUERORS!

We will fight the fight of Faith, but we will never have to fight the fight Jesus did for our souls. And because of what He did, we can proclaim the words of Romans 8:37 no matter what is happening around us. Not only are we conquerors, but we are “More than Conquerors,” and that’s what this passage means. We have a surpassing victory over anything and everything that comes our way.

Romans 8:35 says,

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” Tribulation? NO!

Distress? NO! Persecution? NO! Famine? NO! Nakedness? NO! Peril? NO! Sword? NO!

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:37

In Romans 8:38-39, Paul goes on to say, “For I am persuaded that neither...” and says even these things:

“For I am persuaded that neither (absolutely nothing, that is ---> death, life, angels, principalities, powers, things present, things to come, height, depth, any other creature)........shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord".

Wow! We are MORE THAN CONQUERORS, and there's not a thing, physically or
spiritually, that has the power to defeat us or separate us from the Love of God!

Let this Word encourage you to know that life, and even death, have not power
over the Christian. In Christ, we are VICTORIOUS BEYOND VICTORY and nothing,
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, can separate the Christian from the Love of God!

He that goeth forth and weepeth bearing precious
