Faith-bearing Seed for the Soul
"The sower soweth the Word."

Mark 4:14

Are you lost?

I can't tell you how many times my husband and I have been lost while traveling.  And I know it's a man thing, but he used to never admit that we were lost.  One time, while looking for a business located in Dallas, we ended up going 'round and 'round a certain structure under construction so many times that I finally commented...

"You know, I think they've added another level to that building while we've been circling it looking for this place!"
.
King David had the same problem admitting that he was a sinner.

Psalm 32:5-6 ... NLT (emphasis added)
"There was a time when I WOULDN'T ADMIT what a sinner I was. But my dishonesty made me miserable and filled my days with frustration.  All day and all night Your hand was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water on a sunny day until I FINALLY admitted all my sins to You and stopped trying to hide them."

Many times our own pride or stubbornness causes us so much misery, unhappiness and pain.  We rob ourselves of the joy that the Lord wants for us because we won't admit that we are wrong.  David eventually repented of his wrong doing, and we see that his joy returned.  He began Psalm 32 with this joyous revelation...

"What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven!  What joy when sins are covered over!  What relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record."

In Psalms 51 we see David crying out to God for forgiveness for his discretion with Bathsheba, which led to the murder of Uriah.  David realized that NOTHING is hidden from God, that he had a stained heart, and that he would never again feel the close relationship he had once enjoyed with the Lord until he confessed to God his shameful deed that haunted him day and night.

Not only those who do not know Christ as Savior, but many believers, are living in sin and it is zapping their peace and joy.  The only way to have total peace and joy in the Lord is to not allow sin to come between your relationship with Him.  Sometimes there are things in our lives that we are unwilling to die to.  But the Scriptures tell us that before we can find real life, we have to be willing to die to the old life.

Matthew 10:39
"He that findeth life must lose it."

Like King David, we are all sinners.  But, His grace gives us the opportunity to turn from sin to God for forgiveness, over and over and over until we get it right, through His love, strength, forgiveness and power.

Psalms 32:6
"Now I say that EACH BELIEVER should confess his sins to God when he is aware of them, while there is time to be forgiven.  Judgment will not touch him if he does."

Do you seem to be going 'round and 'round, and have you lost your joy and peace and feel empty and discouraged?  Perhaps you need to ask for His directions and forgiveness.  As David found, God's everlasting love does forgive and restore. The joy of your salvation will return as He clears your record and once again sets your feet on the right path.  Just trust Him!

Psalms 32:10
"Many sorrows come to the wicked, but abiding love surrounds those who trust in the Lord.  So rejoice in Him,
all those who are His, and shout for joy, all those who try to obey Him."
